In order to do some (theme) customizations (per my client’s request), I’ve setup a child theme. When I try to view the blog listing I get a white screen. No errors. Nothing added to the debug log. Just nothing at all.
Single pages are fine. Single posts are fine. If I view an archive list by a category, that works fine. It’s the plain blog listing (of posts) that’s not working __at all__.
Hello Hyun – My apologizes. I had an empty index.php in the root of my child. Long story as to why but obviously, dumb. I’m sorry for the false alarm.
Do you have a repo for pull requests? I’ve notice a couple things that I’m likely to change AND that would be good for the anyone. For example, on the listing pages the image is always the same (2024 x 300?) even if the viewport is small (e.g., phone). TwentySeventeen does the same thing for its single hero image. Somewhere I have code that used to make the TwentySeventeen hero “responsive”. I’m going to dig that up and see if I can “fix” Novella. I can share if you’re interested. Maybe email such things if you don’t do PRs?
Hey Hyun – How about this? I’ll do my child theme to a private repo on GitLab and I’ll invite you to that? I can email you an overview of what I’ve done and why. How does that work for you? I say, let’s try it, and if it doesn’t work, we can try something else. Ok?
p.s. Thanks for that lifetime deal. I’m happy to help either way. But sure! Thanks!!
