The Aesop quote block seems to be defaulting to the theme’s global link color as the quote background color, despite me trying to pick a different color for quotes on individual posts. (I haven’t tried changing the color of the quote font, so not sure how that’s going.)
Any advice?June 18, 2020 at 1:14 pm #22086
Hi Lynley, I belive this used to be the case a while ago but it’s not the case any more. I tried it again and I was able to change the background color fine using Novella. Do you have a link or can you give me more context?June 18, 2020 at 5:39 pm #22087Lynley StaceParticipant
I’ll try to guess at which info you’ll find useful here.
It’s a WordPress site. The post (in progress) can be found here. I haven’t tried putting quotes into any other posts yet.
The pull quote background colour is sticky in that I save the post, go back to it and the new colour (X4ea367) has saved within the draft, but the published post shows a quote background of ##F1F1F1.
I’m trying this with left alignment on the pull quote, in case that helps.

Hi sorry about the issue. I am sorry that you spent a lot of time typing all these. Looking at the post I see other discrepancies from the parameters you listed. Would it be possible for you to give me an access to your site so I can look at the parameters myself? I’ve noticed issues with the text/background colour settings for the Quote block not properly being saved, too.
I’ve got the latest versions of both Novella and the Story Engine plugin installed.July 4, 2020 at 11:44 am #22156
The latest version of Novella has the following options for each post (assuming you have CMB2 installed)
As you can see, it was an intentional behavior to override the quote colors, but I added an option to override that behavior. So you can set the quote colors ass you fit. (I realize I should have ordered the options differently for a better UX. I will do that in the next Novella release)July 6, 2020 at 11:37 am #22159Alex DrinkwaterParticipant
thanks for getting back to me, and sorry for my delayed reply.
That does make sense, but is still a little confusing. Maybe colour option for individual quote blocks could be “greyed-out” in some way, to make it clear the setting was being overridden.
Or, have checkboxes for the highlight colour option specifying exactly what is overridden.
