Filled out the info for social sharing after buying the plugin. But I don’t see any icons. Do I need to add anything to the template?December 11, 2014 at 4:26 pm #5832
Have you checked the “Enable Aesop Social Links” option under the Genji customizer options? Perhaps that’s what is missing.
Also, we have all the details on our doc page if you need any more info.

Yeah, now I feel a little foolish. Totally missed that. Thanks!December 11, 2014 at 5:07 pm #5841
No worries. Glad to help.December 11, 2014 at 5:10 pm #5842
So I enabled the icsons, but nothing’s visible. Where should they show up?December 11, 2014 at 5:11 pm #5843
In the footer.December 12, 2014 at 4:01 am #5846
Not there: sunnyinkabul.com
I shut off any widgets that called for social accounts…any ideas?December 12, 2014 at 10:38 am #5866
Just to make sure, your settings look something like this?December 12, 2014 at 11:22 am #5867
Yeah. Exactly like that. Still nothing.December 12, 2014 at 12:01 pm #5869
What version of Genji and Aesop Social Share are you using?
Can you make a screencast with something like https://recordit.co ?December 12, 2014 at 12:06 pm #5870
Think that’s it…I’m still on 1.0. How can I get the update? I bought it under the old store, apparently, so I’m grandfathered in.December 12, 2014 at 12:28 pm #5871
Gary, you can update to 1.0.4 by grabbing the license key in the downloads area of your account (http://aesopstoryengine.com/account) and entering it into the Aesop Social license area in the WP admin: https://recordit.co/WG4jacPz8mDecember 12, 2014 at 12:36 pm #5873
I bought the original theme when it was still nickhaskins.co, so not sure if that makes a difference. There’s no Genji license code in my account at that link.
I found the Genji license code in my email…but you’re telling me I should put the Genji license into the Social area? I just tried that, nothing happened. But when I re-entered the Social license I got earlier, it’s now showing as ‘active.’December 12, 2014 at 12:37 pm #5874
No, you can put the Aesop Social license in the social license area.December 12, 2014 at 12:40 pm #5876
Here’s what I’ve done so far:
Genji license: active
Social license: active
Still no icons on the site, and it’s not updating my theme.
Several months ago per instructions from the old site, I tried to shift this over to the Aesop site…never got a response back, and just gave up on the theme for a while. So if I’m still stuck in that limbo, is that what’s causing me not to get any updates on the theme?December 12, 2014 at 12:49 pm #5878This reply has been marked as private.December 12, 2014 at 12:56 pm #5882
Entered the new license…not showing as “active” now. That little green “active” label? Not there.December 12, 2014 at 1:06 pm #5886
Another option is to manually download Genji and Aesop Social from https://aesopstoryengine.com/account/ to get the most recent versions and then upload them to your WP install.December 12, 2014 at 1:16 pm #5888
Thanks! That worked…smallish, but…they’ll do. Like that they’re smaller, I think, trying to focus more on the content anyway.December 12, 2014 at 1:29 pm #5889
