    Hi, I am trying to validate my Google+ account and it has asked me add some code to my website homepage. However, if I enter this code, or the proper link to my Google+ page, into the Google+ Profile URL in the Aesop Social Addon and click ‘Test Website’ on Google+, it says, “Check that the line of code was added to your site’s homepage and that the modified homepage is live on your site. Then try testing again.”

    The Google+ Instructions read: “By adding a short line of code to https://www.TheAnarchyState.uk, you can make your Google+ page eligible to show up on the right hand side of the Google search page for relevant queries and make your Google+ page more discoverable. Ask your site’s webmaster to add the following line of code to your site’s homepage:
    Google+

    Am I doing something wrong? In the Social Addon documentation it says, “This is helpful for validating your website when setting up a Google+ profile.” Therefore I assume this can be done?

    I believe one of the steps is to add the website URL to your Google+ profile. Did you do that?

    I found this line of code on your site so Aesop Social is doing its job:

    <!-- Aesop Social Addon | Google Authorship -->
    <link rel="author" href="https://plus.google.com/107794550623809893369?rel=author">

    Let me know if you’ve got the website link added on your G+ page and we’ll go from there!

    Hi Jenny. I had added the link to Google+, but it wasn’t validating. However, in the meantime, I have registered for Google Webmaster Tools and this has solved it. Google+ now says, “Because you’re the verified webmaster for https://www.TheAnarchyState.uk with Google Webmaster Tools, we’ve confirmed the link.” Therefore, this is solved! Thanks for your help, Mark.
