On some of the examples, I’m seeing a nice lead paragraph and drop cap styling.

I’ve got the Custom CSS plugin, thanks to a suggestion somewhere on the forum (kudos for that…hugely helpful).

I think I can piece together how to style that and then call it in each post, but is there a way to do that with any recommended plugin, so I can simplify it?

Rather go that route with something your team knows is compatible instead of screwing around with plugins that are going to break the site.

Tinkering with ASE and Genji last couple of days…kicking myself I didn’t put this work in sooner.

You can alter the appearance with CSS by targeting the first letter with the code snippet here: https://css-tricks.com/snippets/css/drop-caps/ and further elaborated here: https://www.htmlgoodies.com/primers/html/article.php/3888236. I recommend using the plugin you are using (https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/).

If you’re not familiar with how to use CSS inspector in Chrome, it’s super easy to use and will make finding the css classes that you’ll need when you want to change the design. Here’s a great in-depth article about this: https://www.html5rocks.com/en/tutorials/developertools/part1/

    Hope this helps!

Got it…thanks! Thought that might be the route to go, but since Aesop’s approach to themes is different (in a stellar way), wasn’t sure if I was headed down the right track.

Hi Gary. Just wanted to mention for the lead drop cap, you can view my post about this here: https://aesopstoryengine.com/topic/dropcaps/

It’s super easy to do. 🙂
