    Hi Community,

since today I have the problem that the Leaflet map is not showing anymore. Either in post editing nor on the website.

    What could it be?

    Hey Ralph,

That’s odd. What versions of ASE and Novella are you running and do you have any link that you could share with us?

Hello, I’m having a similar issue to what Ralph explains in this post. Was there a further discussion, or resolution out of the forum?

The map for Leaflet does not show in pre or post editing, not on the live site. I can mark and label areas, but it appears as a flag on a blank canvas.

Furthermore – trying to use map tiles from Mapbox is not working – after entering my newly created ID>

    thanks,
    -Aaron

    Hey Aaron,

    Welcome to the forums!

Firstly, can I ask if you have entered your Mapbox ID into the Appearance > Customize > Aesop Story Engine field?

Also, have you had a chance to check out the documentation for the Map component here? https://aesopstoryengine.com/help/map-component

Let me know if you are still having issues.

    Thanks, Michael.

Yes, I’ve followed at the steps discussed in the docs – a few times know (unsure if I had missed anything).
I’ve also entered my (personal) Map ID from MapBox in the Aesop story engine fields – found in ‘Customize’.

No leaflet maps, nor any tiles porting from Mapbox.

    thanks

Hey Aaron, I responded back on August 5, 2015 at 5:59 pm with the following:

“Yes, login info to the live site would be great. That way I can troubleshoot.”

    Perhaps you never got notified.

    Hey Aaron,

Thanks for the info, but can you up my user access to admin so I can check out some of the Map settings?

Everything is working now. As suspected, you never made the update to the new Maps in Aesop, so I triggered the update with an old ID and reentered your personal ID and now all is good.

The specific Mapbox ID is associated with a single tile, so the easiest way to earmark destinations is to go to the post editor that is connected with let’s say Detroit and then move the map around to the desired destination, click to add a map marker, enter a title if desired, and zoom in or out accordingly. We made it super easy to add all the map details within the WordPress post editor instead of needing to go between Mapbox and WordPress. You only need the one time ID and then you can go from there in each post. Otherwise, since each map tile has a separate ID associated with it, you would need to change the ID in the customizer after every map, which may be slightly tiring.

    Does that make sense?

Got it – thanks for the clarification.

It’s up and running and I’ve added the markers.

    thanks again
