    Photos display 1×1 for posts, then open by my estimate roughly 3×8 at the top of a story. I find it difficult to locate and/or crop photos that look good on the post pages and also okay when the post is opened. They often end up squashed. They need to have a very specific composition to work both ways. Is there a way to make the top photo frame of a story taller? Maybe 4×8 or 5×8?

    Hi You can use custom CSS like this:
    To change the height of the featured image in pixels: (You can change the number values here to see what you like.)

    .kerouac-entry-top {
       height:500px !important;
    }
    .kerouac-entry-top-img {
       height:600px !important; // this value should be larger than the above value
    }

    Or to use aspect ratio:

    .kerouac-entry-top {
       padding-bottom:50% !important; //2:1 ratio
    }
    .kerouac-entry-top-img {
       padding-bottom:60% !important; // this value should be larger than the above value
    }

    Thanks! The first option worked for me. Tried several number combinations and found one that makes exactly the adjustment I was looking for.

    I didn’t try it, but wondering why the instruction “this value should be larger than the above value”.

    Best.
