Our story page does not seem to work with an ipad. Here is the link https://www.uusiinari.fi/ennakkojutut/meidan-jarvi/ . Any ideas how we can solve this problem?November 19, 2014 at 1:11 pm #5400
What version of Jorgen are you using?November 19, 2014 at 2:53 pm #5411
Version 1.1 .November 19, 2014 at 3:22 pm #5412
We’re checking on this. Sorry for the inconvenience.November 19, 2014 at 3:29 pm #5413
Have you tried deactivating all plugins and then reactivating them one by one to see if there is a plugin conflict?November 19, 2014 at 4:08 pm #5414
I would also recommend resizing images with a plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-smushit/ to do this.
We did get your story to load on an iPad. It took about 30 seconds to load due to the large image sizes (not to be confused with a large pixel dimension).
Let us know if this helps.November 19, 2014 at 5:05 pm #5416
Thanks! we will try resizing the images.November 19, 2014 at 9:38 pm #5437
Hi Anna-Sofia. I definitely think it is simply a load time issue like Michael said. If you use the Responsinator website and scroll to the bottom to view your site in iPad, the image does load (although quite slowly). Link to view: https://www.responsinator.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.uusiinari.fi%2Fennakkojutut%2Fmeidan-jarvi%2FNovember 23, 2014 at 4:02 pm #5496
We fixed the load time issue but there still seems to be a problem with IOS 8 users, works well with the previous version. The page simply won’t load.November 24, 2014 at 2:30 pm #5517
We’re checking into this.November 24, 2014 at 7:36 pm #5518
Hi Anna-Sofia. I have checked the post in Browser Stack, Responsinator, and Screenfly, all on iPad settings, and the post displays okay. Have you cleared your browser cache to be sure it isn’t a caching issue? (If you’re using a caching plugin, purge all cache.)November 25, 2014 at 5:11 am #5526
Hi! I have also tried several online iPad demos and it works fine on them. With the real device it just doesn’t work. I have tried to open the page with at least 10 different iPads and iPhones that have the newest 8 or 8.1 update. The page simply doesn’t load. The white loading screen doesn’t go away and the loading thingy just goes round and round forever. With older versions it works fine (if you don’t mind the images being cropped on small phone screens). Is it possible for you to test the page with a real iPhone or iPad with iOS8 or 8.1? Thank you for your help, we really need to get this to work!November 25, 2014 at 7:33 am #5527
Unfortunately I do not have an iPhone or iPad to test on. Hopefully Nick is able to figure this one out!November 25, 2014 at 1:27 pm #5531
We have been testing this issue with Jorgen on several iOS devices which are having the results that you described and we’re working on a solution.
We’ll keep you in the loop.December 3, 2014 at 4:03 am #5703
Hi! Have you made any progress with this issue? We are publishing our next story very soon and it has to work… We have to start looking for alternative ways to telling our long stories if we can’t make this work soon!December 3, 2014 at 9:42 am #5707Nick HaskinsKeymaster
We apologize for the delay in this, but I’m happy to report that we’ve just released Jorgen 1.2 which addresses this issue. I do not see any issues on my iPad Mini running the latest version of iOS, but I did spot an issue with the article cover on mobile. The “content sliding over the cover” is a great effect but not necessarily useable on mobile, so we’ve redesigned this area and is much improved.
You should be automatically notified of the update. If not, you can log into your account here and download the new update there just as well.
Let us know how you go about!December 31, 2014 at 7:06 am #6209
Hi! Thank you for the update! Our story still didn’t work after the update but we were able to find the reason for the problem ourselves! It was the audio component! When I deleted it from the story, everything started to work fine. Can you take a look at this bug sometime soon so we can use the audio component again? Also when I deleted the audio component something strange happened. All the galleries in the story were emptied and I had to update them again. After that 2 of the three galleries worked but One of the parallax gallery pictures doesn’t show correctly on computer. It’s the third gallery in this story: https://www.uusiinari.fi/ennakkojutut/meidan-jarvi/ Thank you for your help!December 31, 2014 at 11:42 am #6210
Sorry to hear about your problems. I haven’t been able to replicate the issue with the audio component here locally. Just to be sure I believe you are running WordPress 4.1, Jorgen 1.3, and Aesop 1.4 from what I can see on my end, is that correct?
Regarding the empty galleries, do you happen to remember the steps it took to have this issue?
Would you send a screenshot of the parallax gallery picture that is not working?

Hi Michael! Thanks for the fast response!
Yes we are running WordPress 4.1, Jorgen 1.3 and Aesop 1.4.
If I remember correctly, I did nothing else but delete the audio component and update the article. After the update all the galleries that were used in the story were empty. The space for the picture was still there but when I went to the galleries in WordPress to check them, there were no pictures in them. Then I just added the pictures again. After that all but one gallery worked again.
So one of the galleries doesn’t show the picture in Chrome. I just checked the page with other browsers and with Firefox and Safari it works normally. Here is a screenshot of the place in the story where the picture should be. https://www.dropbox.com/s/l59evgj3tl5nrzz/N%C3%A4ytt%C3%B6kuva%202015-1-1%20kello%2018.12.40.png?dl=0
When you change the ratio of the screen (just drag the window smaller or bigger), the pic becomes visible but the parallax doesn’t work. Like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3p68ayxcuymll44/N%C3%A4ytt%C3%B6kuva%202015-1-1%20kello%2018.18.49.png?dl=0
Btw I also tried to add an audio component to one of the other articles and the loading screen bug happened again. The loading icon just keeps going around and around forever if you use iOS 8.1. Safari.
Thanks again and a Happy New Year!January 5, 2015 at 4:19 pm #6287
When you updated to Aesop 1.4 did you update your galleries as well?
I haven’t been able to replicate the issue that you are having with the parallax gallery.
Do you recall what settings you had on in the audio component?January 13, 2015 at 4:26 pm #6563
Yes I updated the galleries after I noticed that they were empty. One of the galleries still doesn’t work with Chrome for some reason.. I have made a new gallery with the same picture and nothing! Can there be something wrong with the exact place where the parallax gallery is located?
I had auto play on and auto stop off and the player was invisible.
I have also noticed that when you look at parallax gallery on a phone or a tablet and change the orientation from vertical to horizontal, the picture stays cropped vertically. Like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vp39vzvc3q65m87/Photo%2013.1.2015%2023.18.41.png?dl=0
Is it possible to do something about this?
Thanks again!January 13, 2015 at 4:53 pm #6564
Do you have a specific link? If not, would you send a private reply with login credentials?
We know about the parallax gallery size from portrait to landscape on mobile and will be working on a fix for that.January 14, 2015 at 2:12 am #6572
Here is a specific link to the problematic picture: https://www.uusiinari.fi/ennakkojutut/meidan-jarvi/#a1
Good to hear that you have already started to work on that bug!January 14, 2015 at 1:17 pm #6579
Would you turn parallax OFF on the quote components, as we noticed that feature isn’t being used?
We had fixed this parallax issue previously, but we are checking into this further.
Also, for any future issues, would you open a new thread on the forum? It just helps other users find answers better. Thanks.
