In this tutorial we’ll cover the steps needed to insert an existing image gallery into a post or page. If you need instructions on creating an image gallery, visit our tutorial on creating a WordPress gallery.
Inserting A Gallery Short Code
To insert an image gallery into a post or page you will need the short code for the gallery that you would like to insert. You can get the short code by following the steps below. Aesop image galleries can be inserted anywhere in a post or page and you can display as many image galleries as you need.
Click the "Galleries" link in the admin sidebar.
Click on the title for the gallery that you would like to edit.
In the Gallery Code column you will see the short code for your gallery. Highlight and copy (command-c for Mac, control-c for PC) the short code to your clipboard.
Once you have your short code, return to the post or page edit screen and paste (command-v for Mac, control-v for PC) the short code into the edit post box.
Publish or update the post or page to save your changes.
