    Hi Sebastian! The ability to have multiple authors listed under “written by” isn’t available yet but will be soon! In about 2-3 weeks, expect an update that will add support for sites using the Co-Authors Plus WordPress plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/co-authors-plus/). Once support has been added to Aesop, just download and install the Co-Authors Plus plugin and you’ll get exactly what you’re looking for. πŸ™‚

    Hope that helps!

    Hi Mark. That’s certainly odd! I will make sure to notify Nick of this issue so he can take a look. Glad you got it fixed though. πŸ™‚

    The block title is listed over 5 lines in the post settings. Here is a screenshot from my post editor so you can see exactly how it’s set up. I suggest changing the font values to what I have and see how that works for you.

    Oh whoops! Switched themes to Andersen to answer a different support question. My link should show Jorgen styling now. Sorry about that! Please let me know if you can see the block text.

    Your site, as well as my site, both show the block title perfectly on my HTC w/Android 4.4.2. Can you narrow the display issues down for us with product type, OS, etc?

    Hi Souena. Thanks for your reply!

    You are 100% correct. Collections do work properly in Jorgen, for example, but not in Genji. Genji is missing the collection styles. I have created a bug report about this and we’ll get it updated asap. Sorry about that!

    Hi Poul! The options are there, just not in the generator. You can add them to the audio / video shortcode manually. The instructions are at https://aesopstoryengine.com/documentation/ (check out the audio and video sections). Just edit your shortcode and add in the additions and you’ll be all set. πŸ™‚

    Hope that helps!

    Your owner’s manual will provide some insight on how to create a child theme. For your reference, you need to add the @ import for the default styles, like this: https://screencast.com/t/ti3iRpNecQt

    I would suggest trying to use single quotes (‘) instead of double quotes (“), like in the screenshot.

    Hello there!

    The simplest way to hide specific elements is with CSS. Just find your CSS element and use display: none;

    I recommend using a plugin like Simple Custom CSS to save your CSS (https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/).

    If you’re not familiar with how to use CSS inspector in Chrome, it’s super easy to use and will make finding the css classes that you’ll need when you want to change the design. Here’s a great in-depth article about this: https://www.html5rocks.com/en/tutorials/developertools/part1/

    Hope this helps!

    Hmm as for creative.. definitely not something that looks like my screenshot above lol. But something round with a transparent background maybe. Like a still image from a children’s book with a sun rising would be cute. Stars falling, a lightbulb showing that something was an idea. Things like that.

    Sadly I’m not too creative but I’d love to see what you come up with!

    Hi Souena. In order to get the background images (with text), make sure you have

    splash="off"

    in the shortcode.

    Hope that helps!

    in reply to: Parallax Help #1247
    Jenny @ Aesop

    Hi Cory! Thanks for clarifying further! πŸ™‚

    I played around with the parallax settings, specifically the floater. It took a little bit but I finally got it working.

    First, I found that you cannot have 2 parallax components on the same page or the floater does not appear. It’s physically there but is behind the parallax image so you can’t see it. I’m reporting this as a bug. Edit: nevermind.. it’s working fine now. I’m assuming it’s because my offset was off the first time.

    My settings are as follows:

    [aesop_parallax img="http://aesop.simplemama.com/files/2014/03/56H.jpg" height="500" parallaxbg="on" parallaxspeed="1" floater="on" floatermedia="<img src='http://aesop.simplemama.com/files/2014/03/70H-sq.jpg'>" floaterposition="right" floaterdirection="up" floateroffset="400" caption="A caption.. and a floater!" captionposition="bottom-left" lightbox="off"]

    Note 1: In order to use an image, you must use HTML, but not with ” ” or it’ll mess up the shortcode. Instead, enter it like I did above (see floatermedia).

    Note 2: I found that the floater offset needs to be somewhat close to the height of the parallax image otherwise you won’t see it. For the screenshot below, my parallax image is 500 high and my floater offset is 400.

    Here is a screenshot of the floater on my site: https://screencast.com/t/58TGwaD9m

    I hope that helps! πŸ™‚

    The line is showing up due to the bug within Aesop Story Front and it’s messing with the CSS. πŸ˜‰

    I did speak with Nick and the line is not supposed to be there. I am submitting a bug report for this and it will be corrected soon!

    In the meantime, you can hide the line using the following custom CSS (if it doesn’t work, let me know!):

    .single .jorgen-article-cover-wrap .jorgen-cover-title {
        border-bottom: 0px solid #ffffff;
    }

    in reply to: How to add logo like on AesopStoryEngine.com #1067
    Jenny @ Aesop

    Hi Reinhardt.

    First things first, editing core files shouldn’t be done as your hard work will be overwritten during product updates. In order for your files to not be overwritten, it is recommended to use a child theme and place your file edits there. You can find a lot of information about this at https://aesopstoryengine.com/developers/ (for example, “All components are pluggable. Copy the entire shortcode function (including if statement) of whichever component you want to modify, and paste it into your themes functions.php file. It will now use yours instead.”). Refer to the owners-manual in the theme download for documentation on how to set up a child theme, as well as how to utilize the included dev tools.

    To add a logo to your header, you can utilize the filters available in ASE. The filters are at https://aesopstoryengine.com/developers/. Just include your php, using the filter, in the functions.php file in your child theme.

    For example:

    aesop_inside_body_top

    This is implemented by themes, and is used by the timeline component to insert the navigation.

    Hope that helps!

    The CSS selectors you can play around with to change the overlay are:

    .jorgen-story-collection .jorgen-collection-item .jorgen-collection-item-link:before {
        background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% #000;
        opacity: 0.65;
    }

    Hi Niek. Disregard the request for a screenshot and link. After a little debugging, we’ve discovered that those three options do not work when you have the Aesop Story Front plugin active. Please deactivate the Aesop Story Front plugin for the time being and those options will work again.

    We’ll get an updated version out asap!

    Thanks for the suggestion, Niek. I will pass your request along to Nick. πŸ™‚

    You can change the round images with CSS. Currently, the round images use:

    .aesop-character-component .aesop-character-avatar {
        border-radius: 50%;
    }

    If you override that with a border radius of 0, you’ll be back to a square image.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi Niek. This issue will be corrected in an update this week. Sorry about that!

    Regarding the icons, they are added via CSS. You can hide the output icons with a little CSS. Next, you can use a filter to add the new icons in. For your reference, these are the hooks and filters available with Aesop Social:

    do_action('ase_addon_social_links');
    Show the icons in any theme by placing the snippet above wherever you’d like the icons to appear. This is typically done within a theme template file.

    aesop_social_message
    This filter allows you to change the default “Find us” message.

    aesop_social_link_list
    This action allows you to add more links to the end of the list.

    Hi Niek. The lead typography is actually a style already included in the theme. To use it, edit your post and use the CSS class like this:

    <p class="lead">YOUR TEXT HERE</p>

    Hope that helps!
