I think I found a fix that works. For Hero Galleries setting a ratio for the size of the gallery height seems to fix the problem on mobile. So I’ll do that.
thanks
willParticipantUpdate: I installed and am running the Classic Editor plugin and it’s fixed the problem. If you discover a Gutenberg conflict please let me know.
Thanks!

ParticipantApologies….you can skip this question. I’m bogged down with other problems with the theme unrelated to AES.
sorry for the bother,

ParticipantJust an update…I’ve tried to get the text to format properly in the content component content box.
This is the latest code I’ve tried:
I took off the bold and center attribute from the first line, but I still get the first item in the list indented an extra step. I’ve tried the code other places and it looks ok, but not in the Content Component, you can see it here:

WillAmong the key findings of the Inquirer’s analysis
<p>
<p>- Franklin’s recruits in 2015 and 2016 had an average rating of 79.4 on the scale of 0 to 100 used by ESPN. Paterno’s final recruiting classes in 2010 and 2011 averaged 77.5
- In the 2015 and 2016 classes, Franklin’s recruits’ ratings ranged from 71 to 89. Comparatively, in 2010 and 2011, Paterno’s recruits ranged from 70 to 81.
- In Franklin’s 2016 class, defensive end Shane Simmons had a rating of 89, which made him the most highly touted recruit since quarterback Christian Hackenberg. Hackenberg, a member of Bill O’Brien’s 2013 class, received an 88
- In Paterno’s final six recruiting classes, the top recruit was defensive end Maurice Evans, who in 2006 received a 91 rating. Only two other Paterno recruits were ranked above an 85 in those final six years. Franklin has brought three recruits to Penn State above an 85 in three seasons

ParticipantHi Hyun,
I wondered whether you ever had gotten a chance to look at how images resize on an phone? I’m noticing a lot of problems with images that fit in landscape but not portrait mode, or the other way around – depending on whether they are inserted via a gallery or image component.
Is there a way to get images to always fit? I’m using Fable and here’s an example of a post with images that present problems: https://www.thelionsroaratpsu.org/home/double-edged-sword/thanks!
WillParticipantHi Hyun,
The sticky post plugin works, but doesn’t do any styling of the page.
Maybe this is a feature request for the future 🙂 but it would be great if a category page could look something like the homepage with a dominant post at the top.

ParticipantThanks. That works. Is there no full-screen option then that won’t crop the image then? It seems both parallax and hero do? I love the look of the full screen.
thanks again,

ParticipantSo which would you recommend? You can’t turn off the image being clickable in a gallery, unless I’m mistaken? And even with grid layout, the images are getting cropped.
I’ll play around more tomorrow.

ParticipantThanks Hyun,
I’ve tried 100%, that was cropping the edges, so I was trying different widths to see if I could get it to fit.

ParticipantJust an update. I’ve been trying different gallery layouts and running into some additional problems.
https://www.thelionsroaratpsu.org/home/my-number-was-f5637/One of the images is a map of Pennsylvania. If I use the Hero layout and set a height, so it will fit on the screen, two things go wrong. It doesn’t display the full width on my laptop, and it only displays a narrow vertical slice on my iPhone.
With other gallery layouts I’m noticing the edges are getting cropped off and I need the entire image to display.
The problem with some of the other layouts for me is that my boss doesn’t like to have the images clickable. So I can’t use the grid layout for example or even the image component (unless there is an easy way to disable that function?)
Thanks for any help.

WillParticipantHi Hyun,
I upgraded to 10.1 and that fixed the problem. Now I just need to get everyone to upgrade 🙂Is the issue a predictable one? Is there a way to build posts to avoid it? I’m worried about how many people on iPads may still be on 10.0 – especially among my many bosses.
thanks for the quick reply. Really appreciate it.

WillParticipantI tried resaving the original photo and building a new gallery from scratch. Still not displaying.
The new gallery on the post is #400ParticipantThank you!! And thank you for working on the other changes for the next release. Really appreciate all your help.
ParticipantThanks so much Hyun. If/when you get either feature built into Fable I will make good use of them 🙂

WillParticipantHyun,
Thanks so much. That’s all really helpful. But for question 1. I was hoping to delete the author name for specific posts. There are just some times it doesn’t make sense to show who created it. I think your code would get rid of the author name for all posts?
2. I’ll give this a try and see if I can get it to work. Thank you.
3. I’ve never used Grunt Tool, if you have time to create a style sheet that would be great. But I’ll try and dig into that as well.
thanks again,
WillParticipantThat’s weird. I’m not getting that error message. But I’ll explore a bit more. Thanks.
ParticipantHi Hyun,
Sorry, I don’t think I was clear. And I didn’t see away to attach a screen shot. I meant on the backend while editing.
For me, the problem with the galleries is that the captions are over the images. So I was using the image component which puts the caption below. But if you start adding a bunch it’s hard to keep track of what’s what. Same with galleries or parallax. Unless I’m missing a step. You can see a screen shot here
You can’t tell which image or gallery is which. Thanks for getting back to me. I know I posted a few questions all at once. Trying to get the site ready for my Dean 🙂
